Līgatne Nature Trails

Līgatne Nature Trails were established in 1975 in order to introduce visitors with nature, mammal and plant species characteristic of Latvia, as well as with nature diversity and protection. Līgatne Nature Trails are located in the territory of Gauja National Park, in Līgatne region.

On the banks of the Gauja River and in the middle of wooded glens there are  established trails of more than 5 km. It is possible to observe wild animals and birds characteristic of the fauna of Latvia here. Duration of the visit –2-2,5 h on average.

Visitors can hike along the trails or choose the car route. During the winter season, the tourist road is adapted for long-distance skiing.

The animals of Līgatne Nature Trails have been brought from various places of Latvia. They were either injured or tamed cubs of wild animals that could not survive without care of a man and find food without assistance. We remind you that feeding of animals is prohibited!

For visiting the territory of Līgatne Nature Trails, it is recommended to use clothes and footwear, suitable for hiking.
